Ana María Matute talks about a psychological evolution of a character who faces death for the first time. The meaning of the story, the fact that learning that life has negative things is part of growing up, mainly inspired me to know how to tell the story.

The illustration aims to express this psychological evolution through the color palette, less saturated for the harsher world and more colorful for the child's world.
